Project Selfless Love provides opportunities to join in the mission by “adopting by proxy” and providing for children in need in Haiti.
Rio Life Community Church of the C&MA first traveled to Ouanaminthe, Haiti on July of 2009. Dr. Juan Padilla invited the church to join him and a medical team from Puerto Rico in their mission work that took place at a Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Since, RLCC has supported and participated in the mission work of Heal International Medical Missions (HIMM).
Having been to Haiti for a few years now with HIMM, we learned that there are many children in the care of the Pastor who are in great need of academic training and of food. Pastor Eddie leads the Alliance Church at Ouanaminthe. Because of his big heart for children, he has committed to help and care for about 80 children (the number keeps growing). Some of these children are orphans and live with the Pastor, a relative or a church member. Other children live with one parent only who struggles to meet the basic needs of the children.
Pastor Eddie works very hard to provide at least one meal for each child and if possible will provide educational training which takes place at his church. Currently, there are plans for a clinic by the church and construction for a home for orphans where they will be better served and cared for. Seeing the great need in the body of Christ in Ouanaminthe, Haiti, on July 2011 RLCC decided to reach out and help; thus, established Selfless Love for Haiti.
Rio Life Community Church is committed to assist the Alliance Church in Ouanaminthe, Haiti with their efforts in training the children spiritually and academically and in rescuing them from hunger. Our goals are to teach English and Spanish language, offer vocational training and establish an orphanage.
